Situated inside the Tyford Estate, the Club was
established in 1925. The cypress tree which stands as a flag points
on the driveway welcomes you as you turn into a nook where the club
has its rustic country style building. The façade under the
roof and the peaked gables up to the sheet roof gives the exterior
of the building a real country club look.
The road, which runs along the south side of the building, winds downward and disappears into the greenery below.
The building is surrounded by large window with
glass panes and wooden frames. The main entrance is a pretty bay
projecting towards the north. As one enters through this bay to
the main hall, the first thing that comes to the immediate notice
is the huge bust of an Indian bison, stuffed and studded above the
fire place. To the right is the well – stacked bar with the heavily
timbered ceiling and the bar counter paneled in teak wood.
he spacious billiard room is a unique one with
a table set in a rectangular room across the passage done in cut
rock walls, adorned with stuffed heads of bison, tiger, leopard
and stag shot by Richardson Esq. who presented his trophies to the
club as souvenirs. The golf course is just a few meter away on the
northern side of the club which is a nine hole course surrounded
by tea plantation and a multitude of flowering meadows which stretch
from one plateau to another in a wave of green. Bonami Bungalow
can be seen across the hills like a painting on nature's canvas.
The Club has table tennis facility and well stacked library
