India has a rich architectural tradition. Being
the land of diversity, each region has its own style of architecture;
which is influenced by the climate, culture, religion and native
rule. India was colonised by British, French and Portuguese for a
period of 150 years till India regained it's independence in 1947.
India was ruled by dominion of British and Maharajas native to India.
The amalgam of these cultures resulted in creating some of the beautiful
country houses by rich patrons. Built in initial half of twentieth
century, the bungalows are located admist some of the most beautiful
locations. These include backwaters in Kerala, hill stations on
southwestern coast of India and isolated regions located around
teak forests in south india.
